McTaggart Construction, Prestwick

We were proud to partner with McTaggart Construction on the former St Ninians school development in Prestwick, delivering a 42-unit affordable housing scheme for South Ayrshire Council. Our scope involved a full-envelope roofing package and solar energy installation, supporting the council’s commitment to energy-efficient, high-quality social housing.

We supplied and installed Marley Modern Interlocking Tiles in Smooth Grey.

A key feature of the build was the installation of Viridian Clearline fusion PV-16 solar systems. As an integrated "in-roof" solution, the panels sit flush with the tiles, maintaining the roofline's sleek appearance while providing residents with sustainable energy.

Beyond the physical fit, we handled the full supply and commissioning of the solar arrays, ensuring each home was energy-ready upon completion.

Our team executed traditional leadwork to the skew details at the rising gables, providing a robust, watertight seal that meets the technical standards required for local authority builds.

Despite the scale of the 42-home site, our skilled roofing team maintained a rigorous pace, starting in June 2024 and completing all works by January 2025. The result is a durable, MCS-compliant housing stock that reduces fuel costs for tenants and meets the excellent standards expected by McTaggart Construction.
